It's all design

Every client I've worked with has said some version of the same thing. Can we make the font bigger. Can we move this up. It just doesn't pop yet. Then a few changes later they say, now it looks good.

What they almost never say is why it looks good now, because they don't know, and honestly they shouldn't have to. The font wasn't too small. The hierarchy was wrong, so nothing told your eye where to go first. Moving the section up didn't fix it either. The page was answering questions in the wrong order. When it finally “pops”, it's usually because the contrast, spacing and rhythm started working together.

That's what design actually is. It isn't decoration on top of a business. It's every decision about what someone sees first, what they trust, and what they do next. Even an ugly page that converts has a design. Sometimes ugly is a deliberate choice, because it feels raw and honest in the right place. The difference is whether someone made that choice on purpose or it just happened.

Most funnels in this space just happened. That's the opportunity.
